Reservations are requested, but not absolutely necessary.

Each Wednesday at the High Noon Café, includes entertainment on the last Wednesday of each month, which features a Birthday celebration with cake. Reservations are highly recommended and required for Friendship Wednesdays.

We do serve meals on weekends or national holidays.

Each weekday morning, GCCS prepares, packages and delivers hot, ready-to-eat meals to homebound seniors throughout Western Nevada County. Rain or shine, these meals are delivered by a team of dedicated volunteers. Because of these meals, our clients have the ability to remain living independently in their own homes as long as possible.

For Information about Home-delivered meals, call 273-4961. Meals are delivered within the areas of Nevada City, Grass Valley, Cedar Ridge, Penn Valley, Alta Sierra, Lake Wildwood and Lake of the Pines. The suggested donation for home-delivered meals is $3.00. Since the actual cost of a home-delivered meal is close to $7.00, the availability of home-delivered meals may be affected by the amount of our funding.

To be eligible for meals on a donation basis, a person must be 60 years or older, living alone, no longer routinely driving, and no in-home care. When capacity allows, those who do not meet this criteria may be able to receive meals on a fee-for-service basis at a cost of $8.00.

We do not deliver meals on weekends or national holidays.

All donations are tax deductible.

Additional Financial Support is received from:

  • Area 4 Agency on Aging
  • Nevada County Community Service Block Grant
  • United Way of Nevada County
  • Generous donations from individuals, organizations, and businesses in our community
